| LINE REACTORS The line reactor is a 3-Phase series device. All current for the load passes through the line reactor. They are provided with terminals or lugs for easy connection in the power circuit. They are used in adjustable speed drive circuits to provide dampening of voltage spikes and limit peak currents. Line reactors have many ways of improving power quality. Impedance Ratings: 3% impedance reactors are typically sufficient to absorb power line spikes and motor current surges. They will prevent nuisance tripping of drives or circuit breakers in most applications. 5% impedance reactors are best for reducing harmonic currents and frequencies. Use them when you must reduce VFD drive generated harmonics, and to reduce motor operating temperature, or to reduce motor noise. Please refer to our Line Reactor Manual for more information.
